Hee Seung Lim is a seasoned industrial designer with a deep drive to transform the world through iconic ideas. He is most passionate about creating products that help people to live better lives and can stand the test of time. In his own words: “I don’t want to be just another well-trained designer. I aim to be the one who best understands what users want and need.”
Hee Seung Lim started his design career at Thrive after graduating from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. In his first two years at the company, he worked on projects such as Wolf Gourmet, SC Johnson, and Kimberly-Clark healthcare. He then moved to Seoul, Korea where he joined LG Electronics and was responsible for ready-to-market product design, as well as exploring innovative market opportunities. After 20 months at LG, having developed a greater understanding of manufacturing and innovation, he has returned to Thrive as a senior designer.
While at Art Center, his work was exhibited and earned honors, he made the 2011 Dean’s List, and was awarded a 3rd place design award from Project 5th Ave Student Design Contest hosted by Americhem, Inc. Before Thrive, he completed an internship at Samsung’s camera division and Ziba Design in Portland. He has also worked on a sponsored project with Avery Dennison and did contract work for Dorco, Inc. in Korea, the world’s third largest facial razor manufacturer. When not designing, he defends his title as Thrive’s resident foosball champion!
