OVERVIEW

Jessica Sutantio is a Senior Design Researcher researcher interested in exploring the intersection of art and technology, and developing tangible and interactive experiences that earn high marks in both worlds.

EXPERIENCE

Before joining THRIVE, Jessica conducted and synthesized design research and conceptualized products as a Design Engineer at Pensa in Brooklyn. Before that, she worked as a mechanical engineering intern at Tellart where she designed interactive exhibitions, and as a product development intern with Bose’s Advanced R&D department. Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Olin College in the greater Boston area.

EXTRAS

Although her work has taken her from Boston and Brooklyn to Providence and Atlanta, Jessica Sutantio is no native of the East Coast. She grew up in Los Angeles and has driven across the country three times, hitting America’s beautiful national parks along the way. She also serves as Thrives in-house DJ (sorry, Clay). When she isn’t working or traveling, she is a passionate advocate for K-12 STEAM programs, teaching design thinking and basic digital and traditional fabrication techniques at the Bay Area’s Design Tech High School in her spare time.
