Paul Chrisco boasts more than 20 years of IT experience, but as a former United States Air Force EMT with experience working in the ER, he brings a unique level of empathy and care to his technical work. Helping others is really where Paul’s passion lies, and now he’s doing it through network support and data security.
During his time in the Air Force in the early 1990s, Paul worked with a doctor who had a bachelor’s degree in computer science. This mentor introduced Paul to the field, encouraging him to pursue an education and career in Computer Science. A combination of self-teaching and IT courses and certification training (such as A+, Network+, MCSE 2000, Programming, and others) laid the foundation for this new career. He later went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Kennesaw State University. Before his role at THRIVE, Paul worked as a support engineer for Gateway Computers. Today, he provides THRIVE’s technical support, maintaining everything from internet connections, firewalls, switches, cabling, and servers to network monitoring and management. He is also responsible for THRIVE’s information security, ensuring compliance with ISO27001 and HIPAA, giving THRIVE’s clients the confidence that their data is protected correctly.
When he’s not working with computers, Paul enjoys woodworking, translating the same attention to detail he uses for IT to his craftsmanship. He loves making furniture and is also currently putting his construction skills to use by framing out his basement walls.
