Thomas Wages brings his richly varied background and true entrepreneurial spirit to his role as Chief Operating Officer at THRIVE. The very definition of a “doer” with a laundry list of accomplishments to prove it — including helping launch two television networks, the careers of three Grammy-winning artists, and designing a clothing line that bears his name. He uses his dynamic leadership, gyroscopic thinking, and perpetual drive to bring THRIVE’s roadmap to life. Or as Thomas says: “I’m the guy that makes sure all the plates are spinning on their sticks.”
Creativity and design have always been at the heart of Thomas’ career, one that spans numerous industries and nearly three decades. He got his start at Turner Broadcasting, where he helped launch Cartoon Network and Turner Classic Movies before going it on his own — first as Founder and CEO of Blue Dot Music, the record label that launched the careers of artists John Mayer and Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland. After setting both artists on their Grammy-winning paths, Thomas returned to the brand and marketing arena, as COO and Partner at the Look-Listen agency, while also creating his clothing line. (You know. No big deal.) Thomas has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Advertising from the University of Georgia where he also received his Master’s in Photography and Design.
Thomas started his first company at 12 years old, designing and painting billboards and window ads for local merchants. He’s been featured in publications such as The Wall Street Journal and Huffington Post. Thomas is also a licensed mariner, something he maintains as a holdover from growing up on Georgia’s Lake Lanier. Ever the self-driven doer… Thomas even cuts his own hair. He likes to maintain the line “yes, I can do that.”
